Small Experiments, Simple Joys

Sometimes I like to work on small things that don’t take much time. Yet every now and then, even these little things can turn into a “finished piece” that brings a bit of joy. This one is a business card I designed for a friend—a writer, poet, and a long-time creative voice in the industry. Since everything she does revolves around language, turning the card into a bookmark felt like the perfect fit (at least, that’s how I see it!). It’s not exactly a new idea, but for me it satisfies that personal urge to play, to experiment, and to keep exploring creativity—just like the old days in the university studio, where the freedom to test and try led me toward discovering my own path.

And honestly, it’s only with small projects like this that I get the “privilege” of doing whatever I want. For example, I slipped in the POET Display typeface, which I’m still developing and haven’t yet decided how to use. Originally it was part of a project that, for several reasons, had to be put on hold. In the end, we decided to gift this typeface to my friend, making it a part of her personal brand. I’ll share more about POET Display later, once it’s further along.
