Savor Every Bite

The project began with naming. We narrowed it down to two finalists—Delica and Delicate—and almost settled on Delica, a blend of “delight, delicious, delicate,” meant to capture the essence of imported meat products. However, after legal checks, the name couldn’t be trademarked. So we moved to the next viable option: Savora. Inspired by the word savor—to taste and enjoy—it was refined with the added vowel “a” to give the name a sense of completeness and freshness. Along with it came the tagline “Savor every bite,” emphasizing the joy of flavor and quality in every piece.

The label design is simple, reflecting the spirit of an imported product line. The bold wordmark takes inspiration from old Western Texas—an era of sprawling cattle ranches and frontier towns—echoing the rugged character of that time. Meanwhile, the red and blue palette nods to the brand’s “imported” identity, recalling the national flags of the U.S., Norway, and Canada, where the meat is sourced and packaged. The printed version ended up slightly different from our final design, likely adjusted by the client team to meet government regulations.

This project wasn’t grand in scale—neither in timeline nor design—but to me it embodied the straightforward spirit of a commercial food project: fast, concise, and practical. The client’s requirements were not overly strict; what mattered was that the brand had a clear visual identity in time to launch its product to market. Today, Savora can be found in many Kingfood Mart stores. The client behind the brand is CPG New Retails, a member of Seedcom Group.

At fins studio, we don’t often take on large commercial projects, since we set our own boundaries for the kind of work we pursue. Yet every now and then, there’s a quiet joy in moments like this—walking through a supermarket and spotting our work on the shelves, or imagining it finding a place in someone’s kitchen. It’s always a nice feeling.
